Stacy and I bought our new condo and moved in mid-February 2018. Throughout the entire process of seeking a home — looking at listings, visiting places we were interested in, putting in an offer, going through the back-and-forth of the offer, acceptance, inspection, closing, etc. — Jeremy was with us the whole way. My husband and I worked with Susie to sell our condo in Lincoln Square and buy a new home in Evanston. We had worked with several realtors via Redfin and other agencies when buying our condo and starting the search process for our second home, and Susie was absolutely the best by far. She was extremely patient and straightforward in advising us how to put our condo’s best foot forward for a sale, and we were able to sell quickly in a slower market so I believe all her feedback was spot on. She was extremely welcoming in bringing our two young children along on showings and helped to occupy them so that we could look at homes. She also had a great eye for things like the mechanicals and electrical system in a new-to-us home so that we had a better idea what we were getting into, and was honest with us about whether she thought a home was a good buy or not and that we’d have to be willing to do some work to get the type of home we wanted. I spent the better part of the summer of 2019 working with Susie and her team to sell a condo in Lincoln Square while looking for a new condo in the surrounding areas. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, gave advice based on her experience as a realtor and as a neighbor, and always took the time to explain the little details of the process. My condo sold quickly and was a seamless process thanks to Susie and her colleagues at DreamTown realty. When my wife and I decided to sell our condo in the spring of 2011 we knew it was not going to be easy. We were looking for an agent with a strong understanding of the Chicago real estate market, a realistic approach given the market conditions, and someone who communicated with us regularly to keep us informed. Susie did GREAT work for us! She sold 1 property for us and worked very patiently to help us buy another. Susie had great recommendations for how to prepare the house to sell so that is showed incredibly well. She did comprehensive market research to price the house so we got an asking price offer on the first day of showings! It took is much longer to buy than to sell because we were particular with what we wanted. She was incredibly patient with us and also very responsive when we had questions or wanted to see a property . I was consistently impressed with how much she know about homes and what to look for in terms of the roof, foundations, siding, plumbing, etc. She was able to guide us to ask the right questions and make recommendations for inspections items, which made the process less stressful. We were very pleased with Susie and would strongly recommend her!

Calling Susie Kanter a real estate agent is akin to calling Babe Ruth a ballplayer. In both cases, the terms are technically accurate, and yet they constitute a gross understatement. Just like the Babe, Susie is not defined by her generic profession, so much as she redefines the standard of excellence for the profession, itself. Sure, she’s adept at helping her clients buy and sell homes; but the breadth of her skills far exceeds the confines of what we normally think an agent does. Buying and selling a home is just the culmination of both Susie’s tireless vigilance to her client’s needs and her rare diversity of expertise in the real estate market, the mechanics of home finance, local resources for home repair and maintenance, and every other factor that informs our decisions about whether, where, and when to purchase or unload a property. Beyond that, Susie distinguishes herself with her intangible strengths as a person. She conducts herself with integrity, flashes a clever wit, and exhibits a genuine desire to understand her clients as people, not just as customers. So it’s no surprise that, after working with Susie to buy two homes and sell one, my wife and I have come to call her a friend. Susie’s prowess was never more valuable to us than in our most recent purchase of a home, which required complex negotiations and creative strategy to steer the deal through some treacherous turns. There were many moments when it seemed that the transaction — along with my composure — could crumble, but Susie ushered us to the goal line, always finding a way to stay in the game. You will not find a better real estate professional than Susie Kanter. I’ve been working with Susie for over 20 years. She helped me find my first condo in 1997. Five years later, when I wanted to buy a two-flat, Susie worked tirelessly to find the perfect one. It was for sale by owner. Without hesitation, she still supported me through the entire buying process and sold my condo within weeks. After 13 years, my family and I moved out of state and Susie sold our two-flat again in just weeks of being on the market. Susie and her team made the process smooth and seamless. She was very accommodating and considerate to our family’s schedule and the needs of our toddler. Here’s what I’ve learned about Susie over the past 20 years… She is extremely knowledgeable about the Chicago market; she is honest and straightforward; and she has an impeccable understanding of the specific dynamics that may affect the buying or selling of a particular home. As a first time homeowner, I wanted a realtor who was experienced, patient, informative, and committed to being my advocate. Susie was all of those things and much more. From the very beginning, Susie was very responsive and went out of her way to answer every single question, even ones that we had not thought to ask. During our initial condo viewings, she went over tedious details, explaining basic concepts and things for us to look for during our visits. When we eventually found our current condo, she helped us strongly negotiate and was not afraid to tell us when we were being too ambitious. Further, she helped us through a quite painful attorney review process and maintained her composure and professionalism, even when dealing with situations that were extremely frustrating. Further, Susie’s great relationships have helped us tremendously. Although the stay at home order prevented us from seeing Susie in person during the closing, we imagine we will be seeing more of her during the future!

My wife and I just bought our first home, and we could not have asked for a more helpful, attentive, and enthusiastic agent than Jeremy. From the first time we spoke with him about what we were looking for, we felt like he understood our needs, and he adapted when what we were looking for evolved. Jeremy helped us search for a home during the first months of Coronavirus lockdown, when agents were not permitted to view all properties with clients, not to mention the inspections, or even closing. Still, Jeremy stayed in constant touch with us throughout and made himself available by phone and video call for all these steps. I bought my first condo 12 years ago and hired on Susie, who was representing the seller, as my agent. Back then in 2008, even though my partner at the time led the process with Susie, I found Susie to be extremely trustworthy and professional. Fast-forward to 2020 COVID times, I’m still in the same condo in Chicago and am now looking to sell and purchase a home and I went with Susie again. LOOK NO FURTHER. WOW, just Wow. Susie Kanter and team are the very best. We first met Jeremy at an open house he was hosting. We found him to be so personable, friendly, helpful, and not at all pushy, that we wanted to work with him to buy our first home. We put our search on hold in 2020, but we were keeping a close eye on listings. When we were ready to jump back in, Jeremy was ready to spring into action with us! Jeremy helped us target neighborhoods in Chicago that made sense for our priorities and our budget. We felt really taken care of- when Jeremy found listings that fit our needs but were slightly outside our search area, he passed them along to us, and that is ultimately how we found our home! Finding a new home and selling our old condo with Jeremy Clark was great. My wife and I always felt like we were in the driver’s seat and never got pushed or prodded into dropping the price on our condo. Because we went on the market and sold under COVID, we had some real unique challenges that we felt Jeremy was able to adapt to. The buyers had first seen our place on a Virtual Open House which Jeremy set up for us. We likely wouldn’t have been able to sell it if it wasn’t for Jeremy adapting to the particularities of the times. Jeremy would frequently check in with quick phone calls and would keep us up-to-date on what the market looked like or how prospective sellers viewed our place.
